A haunted castle to end all haunted castles. Supposedly marvellous ruins. Near Totnes. This is a very hard place to find but is saturated with historical events and is reputedly the most haunted (by ghosts) castles in England.

I have never been able to find this place, though pictures of it look spooky and impressive. This is on my must-visit list. (Totnes is haunted too, as my wife found when she kiboshed a B&B near the castle -- "there is no way we can stay in this place, it gives me the creeps" -- so we went farther downtown -- but somehow a haunted B&B does not rate up there with a haunted castle.)
